			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Milan, the new Jumbo Tram was presented; same orange livery but with a modern, attractive design.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>A complete revamping that involved all the internal and external components of the &#8220;glorious&#8221; vehicles crossing Milan from July 26, 1976, when it has took service the first of one hundred trams delivered until 1978.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>SPII, with his talent, has contributed to innovation once again.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Each tram driver of the new Jumbo Tram will use a Driver Desk completely designed, engineered and produced by SPII, that was presented to the public during the exhibition EXPO Ferroviaria 2012 in Turin.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>A further contribution of SPII, not least important, it has been to develop and deliver new Electromagnetic Brakes that will ensure high performance and a high safety degree inside the famous traffic jam of Milan.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>After Jumbo Tram in Milan and the Trenitalia futuristic Zefiro train, also the Polish train drivers will lead the New Pendolino PKP Poland using a driver desk completely designed, developed and produced by SPII.</p>
<p>Thanks to its know-how and leadership in integrated driver desk and railway components, SPII is once again prestigious and qualitative partner in a new and important supply related to international railway high speed.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>The Polish operator PKP Intercity, in charge of long distance passenger transport, has awarded Alstom a contract to supply 20 high speed trains New Pendolino. The first trains are scheduled for delivery in 2014.<br />
The New Pendolino will be a 7 cars trainset able to reach a maximum speed of 250 km/h and carry up to 402 persons on existing routes in Poland Warsaw-Gdansk-Gdynia, Warsaw-Krakow and Warsaw-Katowice, enabling passengers in Poland to a significant time reduction and to experience a new level of quality and comfort.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>95% recyclable, the trains have an electrical brake systems enabling up to 8% savings in energy consumption and recycling up to 97% of power which is fed back into the catenary system.</p>
<p>As well as meeting the latest interoperability European standards (ERTMS), the trainsets for PKP Intercity will be equipped with signalling systems required to operate not only in Poland but also in Austria, Czech Republic and Germany.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>This contract demonstrates once again the international recognition for the most successful “made in Italy” train and, overall, for the Italian excellence in railway production: in fact, the 20 New Pendolino trainsets for PKP Intercity will be manufactured at Alstom’s sites in Savigliano and Sesto San Giovanni and will be guided by the “advanced skill” of SPII integrated driver desks.</p>
<p>A new big step for SPII, a new big step towards the future of railway mobility.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>SPII technological skill lands in Turkey and becomes protagonist of the city of Bursa electric mobility, in the Marmara region, providing all the driver&#8217;s desk components of the innovative tram Silkworm.</p>

<p>This modern and attractive tram, designed and produced by the turkish machinery manufacturer Durmazlar, was recently presented to the railway sector in the occasion of the contract that sets 14 trams to improve the public transport of Bursa, one of the most important Turkish city, the fourth-largest with nearly 2 million inhabitants, resting on the slopes of Mount Uludağ (the old Olympus of Mysia) and home of the most important station for winter sports in Turkey.<br />
Capital of the Ottoman State in mid-1300 with the old name of Prusa, and one of the most important commercial centers of the ancient &#8220;Silk Road&#8221;, Bursa is now one of the most important industrial centers in Turkey: it’s the national center of the automotive industry but also has a very strong presence in the textile and food industry and a great tourists flow.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Following the trend of the most important turkish cities, where the public transport by rail is increasingly being developed &#8211; trend that led to estimate a need within 2025 of 5,250 vehicles between tram and metro and 3,200 only for Istanbul, for a total investment between 14 and 15.7 billion euros &#8211; Bursa during 2012 will offer to its citizens and guests all the comfort, safety and environmental awareness guaranteed by the 14 Silkworm tram, able of carrying up to 275 passengers with really low power consumption and sound-impact.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>The “thinking-head” of the tram is the SPII driver’s desk that, thanks to the semi-circular high-ergonomic console, allows the driver to manage all the controls in a highly simple, safe and quick way.</p>
<p>With this project, SPII confirms once again its top player position in the international railway market.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>&#8220;A skill that never stops.&#8221; This imprinting contained in its DNA is the key-factor of the technologic and communication important project that led to the official launch of the new SPII website on <strong>day 01 February</strong>.<br />
An evolution that marks a great step for SPII in its corporate communication strategy and represents the fulfillment, even for the digital world, of the careful redefinition of corporate and product identity made in the last years by SPII.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>The design and the development of the new site refer to specific guidelines:<br />
•  transparency, accessibility and immediacy in finding information and contacts;<br />
•  precise web identity in line with the company&#8217;s corporate image;<br />
•  maximum attention to the &#8220;user experience&#8221;;<br />
•  modernity, freshness and functionality of the graphics and visual solutions.</p>
<p>A careful analysis of trends and users behaviors on the web carried to an architecture of content, navigational info-structure and stylistic choices that tend to place the new SPII site among the &#8220;web best practices&#8221; in the railway sector. A goal that is not an end in itself but a driver for more effective communication with customers and with the web users. For further development of business opportunities, for an adequate image to the leadership of SPII in its market.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The fifth edition of EXPO Ferroviaria -  Italy’s rail technology showcase &#8211; will be staged at the Lingotto Exhibition Centre in Turin, Italy, from 27 &#8211; 29 March 2012.</p>
<p>A very important event for railway sector players in which, as happened for the previous editions, once again SPII will be in the spotlight with an important stand (624), promoting its identity and image and presenting to the operators and the public the latest news about its products and services.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>EXPO Ferroviaria provides a unique marketing opportunity for suppliers to Italy’s rail network, one of the largest and busiest in Europe.</p>
<p>More than 6000 professional operators of this sector visited the last edition in 2010 that was held in Turin, organized together with the gallery INTERtunnel 2010.<br />
Since its first edition in 2004 to the last in 2010, visitor attendance increased by 20%.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>EXPO Ferroviaria has the support of key organizations shaping the rail market in Italy, the national rail holding company, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport and the Piemonte regional government. In addition, the Association of Italian Railway Engineers (CIFI) will play a key role by staging a high-level conference in the exhibition venue. And for the first time, the Italian association of public transport operators (ASSTRA) will be organizing a conference alongside the exhibition in 2012.</p>
